Device Connectivity Update
Q1 2026
TELCOR QML® has connectivity for more than 160 device types. Whether you are looking to add new testing on devices already in use, add a new device to your POC program, or expand testing to include ambulatory locations, we can help.
We are dedicated to connecting all POC testing, and will communicate new connectivity and enhancements as they become available.

TELCOR QML and Interface Validation with Microsoft® SQL Server® 2025
Microsoft SQL Server Express or Enterprise is used for temporary transactional storage by QML device communications, POC Reports, and POC Alerts. TELCOR has completed validation and compatibility testing with Microsoft SQL Server 2025.
Updates
The following updates were released in the first quarter. Most TELCOR device connectivity updates have little to no interruption of connectivity for these device types. Contact TELCOR Support (POCTSupport@telcor.com or 866-489-1207) for more details or to schedule an update.
Clinitek Status® Connect
Siemens released an update to the CT Status and Connect module to convert the OS from Windows® CE 2013 to Linux®.
- We have confirmed compatibility to the new connect module.
- There are no changes to the interface.
- The Connect module no longer supports WEP Wi-Fi protocol or PCL 3 type printers.
Epoc®
A new epoc Direct configuration option allows you to hold samples with failed iQC results by specific test code and/or the number of failed iQC results on a sample. Additionally, this update allows epoc result values containing “Failed iQC” to be translated to customer specified value in the message sent to the LIS/EMR. You can choose to send this, or other non-numeric values, as an NTE segment following a blank result value. This is used when the host is configured to only accept numeric values for the test result.
- We added special processing to append the Return Code to test result values of “Failed iQC” in order to provide Siemens with the specific failure number. There are new options available to handle this change to the result value. These new configurations will need to be added by TELCOR.
- You can now configure a threshold for Failed iQC results based on test count and test code. When the defined limit is reached, a new test iQCFailMax is added to the sample. The result reported for iQCFailMax equals the defined threshold value. You may flag this result and hold the sample for review.
- There is a new option to translate Failed iQC results into a customer-defined value before sending to your Host System.
- You may also send non-numeric result information as a note in an NTE segment when the Host System only accepts numeric values.
- There are new process improvements to eVAD Update and Software Update processing in the QCM.
- The selection information is now cleared after an invalid file was chosen.
- The selected path to the file is now reset when an invalid file path is chosen.
- A warning message now displays when an invalid file is selected.
- Selection of file type is now restricted to .eVAD or .zip for eVAD Update and .upg or .zip for Software Update.
- The epoc communication (NWS) service now supports .NET® 8.0, allowing installation on servers running newer framework versions. This change ensures support for newer versions of the .NET framework and improves long-term maintainability.
- In addition, there are corrections for the following issues:
- Communication with the device will no longer stop following the improper shutdown of a service component.
- Manufacturer default configurations are no longer applied to the device when the device requests configurations while the service has lost its database connection. This prevents the issue where the Patient ID length is set to 23 characters even when that value is not defined in the QCM.
- There was a possibility that only Arterial ranges exist for the Default range profile. This correction ensures that specific ranges exist for each sample type in the default range profile.
Please note, implementing this update will require a brief communication interruption for epoc devices, an update to the QML Configuration Module (QCM), and will require a brief downtime for all sample import into QML. If you access QML through Citrix®, coordination will be needed to complete the QCM update. We will also upgrade .NET to version 8 on the QML application server (including the uninstall of .NET version 6) during this update and this step.
GEM® HL7 and GEMWeb® Plus
- Special characters, such as the ampersand (&) and the backslash (\) , entered by device operators in comments can require HL7 encoding when transmitted between systems. TELCOR has enhanced GEMHL7 processing to ensure these encoded values are properly handled during import into QML, reducing processing errors and improving the reliability of sample imports. This enhancement is available through a QML patch for versions 2.3.32.56 and later.
Please note, implementing this update will require a will require a brief downtime for all sample import into QML.
Cepheid® GeneXpert® Series
- A new GI panel cartridge and with tests for CAMP, CRYPTO, GIARDIA, SALMONELLA, EIEC, YERSINIA, VPARA, VCHOL, STX1, STX2 tests were added.
- The new test and cartridge must be added by TELCOR.
Please note, implementing this update will require a will require a brief downtime for all sample import into QML.
ID NOW™
- Enhancement to support Wi-Fi connectivity with TLS 1.2 encryption.
Please note, implementing this update will require a brief communication interruption for ID NOW devices.
Hemochron® Signature Elite (existing limited bi-directional POCT1A connectivity)
- Operators expire on the Sig Elite device at 0001 AM on the day of their expiration. We added an option allowing operators to test until midnight (2400) on the day of their expiration. TELCOR will enable this option upon installation of the update.
Please note, implementing this update will require a brief communication interruption for Sig Elite devices.

New
baebies FINDER®
FINDER uses digital microfluidics to test pediatric blood samples. G6PD test provides glucose 6-phosphate dehydrogenase enzymatic activity in whole blood specimens using only a 50-microliter sample, enabling clinicians to quickly and accurately determine G6PDd status.
The new uni-directional HL7 interface, FINDER supports wired ethernet connection to QML through its network port, sending patient and quality control (QC) results to QML. TLS 1.2 client encryption is supported for the data transmission but can be disabled.
Hemochron® Signature Elite (S)
New full bi-directional option for the Sig Elite devices that requires a serial connection (e.g., Lantronix) and includes configurations from QML to the instrument. QML sends Operator List, Patient List, Set Date/Time, Device Configurations, Disposable Lots, and QC Materials to the device. QML automatically receives Patient and QC Results when the device connects to QML. With this new connection, the operator no longer initiates transmission. The QCM for this new connectivity option is found on the Links menu.
It should be noted that operators expire on the Sig Elite device at 0001 AM on the day of their expiration. We added an option allowing operators to test until midnight (2400) on the day of their expiration. TELCOR will enable this option upon installation.
Though this is a new connectivity option for the Sig Elite, it will use the existing SigElite device type in QML.
