Utilizing TELCOR QML to Streamline POC Operator Management
Just as POC devices come in all shapes and sizes, so do their operator competency and certification requirements.
Typically, employees within a central laboratory setting have an applicable level of laboratory education and certification. However, when it comes to POC testing, very few performing the testing have laboratory education or certification. And unlike the laboratory, there are significantly more people performing POC testing than work in the central laboratory.
QML was designed to automatically consolidate and manage all POC operator competencies including:
Customize certification profiles by device type/facility with testing and competency requirements.
Automatically consolidate and present POC operator competencies due or overdue in a real-time queue.
Efficiently batch certifications for operators with one or more device types and assign authorized testing locations.
Track certification for applicable device types by facilities with operators who float between them.
Add special operator parameters for applicable device types such as authorizations and/or special operator IDs.
Present views by authorized testing locations, special operator parameters, operator lists to devices, and more.
Integrate with the learning management system (LMS) to receive quizzes, checklists, and more.
The LMS interface also includes options to manage operators by automatically adding new operators and inactivating those who have left employment from the organization. Even without an eLearning interface, lists of new operators and those to be inactivated can also be imported into QML, eliminating the need to manually create or update operator records.
