TELCOR QML® has connectivity for more than 160 device types. Whether you are looking to add new testing on devices already in use, add a new device to your POC program, or expand testing to include ambulatory locations, we can help.
We are dedicated to connecting all POC testing, and will communicate new connectivity and enhancements as they become available.
TELCOR adheres to a beta release process providing our customers with the best outcomes when implementing new device types. Our dedicated Beta Implementation Manager works closely with the first customers implementing each device type to ensure all features and functionality perform as expected before we release to our entire customer population.
BioFire® FilmArray®
The BioFire FilmArray 2.0 and Torch systems are a combination of FilmArray instruments, one analyzer and reagent pouch (disposable). The system tests bacteria, viruses, parasites, yeast, and antimicrobial resistant genes; integrates sample preparation, nucleic acid amplification, detection, and data analysis into one platform; and is designed to process samples and deliver results in about one hour.
The BioFire Link software add-on interfaces with QML to electronically transfer test information through a uni-directional HL7 interface, sending patient results only.
The following updates were released in the second quarter. While some updates require a QML upgrade, most TELCOR device connectivity updates have little to no interruption of connectivity for these device types. Contact TELCOR Support (POCTSupport@telcor.com or 866-489-1207) for more details.
Nova® Biomedical NovaMTE
Previously, manual tests performed on NovaNet devices were tied to the existing NovaNet device types configured in QML (e.g., StatStrip, StatSensor). This release introduces a change that separates manual testing from specific NovaNet device types.
Going forward, manual test samples will be associated with the NovaMTE device type. Each sample will also include the specific disposable type, disposable lot, and expiration date used during testing. During the upgrade, the device type and disposable type on existing samples are updated to NovaMTE. This enhancement enables support for auto-recertification of NovaMTE certifications and allows tracking of testing activity by disposable.
QML version 2.4.2.7 and a TELCOR device connectivity module upgrade is required to support this enhancement.
PixCell HemoScreen™
Proficiency samples are now imported and categorized as QC samples. During the upgrade, all existing HemoScreen proficiency samples currently classified as patient samples will be automatically reclassified as QC samples. The sample ID for these records will be formatted as ‘control lot’/0.
A TELCOR device connectivity module upgrade is required to support this enhancement. Most TELCOR device connectivity updates have little to no interruption of connectivity.
Roche Urisys 1100®
Roche redesigned the Urisys device. A change was required to the serial number capture functionality to support alphanumeric characters, aligning with the new device model requirements.
This new version of the Urisys 1100 now sends QC samples to QML as QC samples. Previously, QC samples were transmitted to QML as patient samples and were converted into QC samples upon import. Specialized processing now ensures QC samples are correctly imported, with the conversion still occurring when samples are received from older device models. Additionally, the following fields are now captured from the new model: Disposable/Control lot and expiration.
A TELCOR device connectivity module update is required. Most TELCOR device connectivity updates have little to no interruption of connectivity. To interface this new device, version 7.11 of the device firmware is also required.
Siemens Healthineers epoc® Blood Analysis System
QML connectivity was tested with Siemen’s April 2025 software updated for Host 2 and NXS mobile devices and no issues were found.
Werfen Avoximeter™ 4000
Abnormal flags are now included when results are imported into QML. If a result is flagged with the less than symbol (<) or great than symbol (>), the corresponding symbol will be appended to the result value.
A TELCOR device connectivity module upgrade is required to support this enhancement. Most TELCOR device connectivity updates have little to no interruption of connectivity.
Werfen GEM® Premier™ Analyzers
There is a new option to bypass the creation of sample files when a sample is received without results. Under the current behavior, such instances result in the generation of a WorkQ file with a .err extension, which triggers an entry in the Error Log. When the new option is enabled, the system will no longer create a WorkQ file in these cases. Instead, the corresponding RawQ file will retain a .dat extension and no error will be recorded in the Error Log.
A TELCOR device connectivity module upgrade is required to support this enhancement. Most TELCOR device connectivity updates have little to no interruption of connectivity.
Stay tuned for the beta release of TELCOR device connectivity for these device types this year.
QuidelOrtho™ VITROS® XT 3400
The Vitros XT 3400 Chemistry System is a floor-model analyzer that performs clinical chemistry testing using Vitros Microslides and requires only small sample volumes. Communication with QML is uni-directional; the instrument sends patient results and quality control (QC) data to QML.
